I was lucky enough to be a guest at the beautiful December wedding of Louisa + Colin. It was a memorable day in more ways than one, but even more special to me was the role that I played in making Louisa's bridal gown.

A bride dreams of the perfect wedding gown for months, and sometimes years before her wedding day. Pinterest boards, chats with her girls, countless marked folders in her computer, rummaging through magazines, and various try-ons often go into a bride's search for the perfect dress. Though I have made formal gowns and regular dresses in my time, I had never made a wedding dress from start to finish before Louisa's - so you can imagine the pressure I might have felt when she asked me to create a gown for her (I say 'might have', because Louisa is so relaxed and lovely that I didn't feel much of the stress of it at all)!

I knew I wanted this dress to be nothing less than perfect for her - after all, you only get married once and you want to feel and look amazing! This was also a large milestone for me, and a process I am entirely grateful to have experienced. It was incredibly exciting and a privilege to live through the anticipation with Louisa, with whom it was an absolute delight to collaborate.

After many fittings, discussions, and travelling back and forth, we came up with this lace gown with a fitted bodice, open back and full layered lace + tulle skirt. She looked SO radiant and beautiful on her big day, and the time that I got to spend with her during the months we spent working on this creation is something I will always treasure.
